Lazio forced to appeal for fans to stop racist chants during derby win

• Roma’s Anthony Rüdiger subjected to repeated racist chants by Lazio fans
• Stadium announcer warned that match would be interrupted if it continued

Lazio beat their neighbours Roma for the first time in eight meetings on Wednesday, although racist chanting and a boycott by their opponents’ fans marred their 2-0 win in the Coppa Italia semi-final first leg.

Sergej Milinkovic-Savic and Ciro Immobile scored, one in each half, for Lazio, who last beat their neighbours in the Italian Cup final in May 2013, at a disappointingly half-empty Stadio Olimpico.
