• Club vows to issue lifetime bans against any guilty fans
• Comes after man suffers slash wound ahead of Everton win
The Football Association has launched an investigation into reports of racist chanting during Millwall’s dramatic FA Cup fourth-round victory over Everton, with the club vowing to impose lifetime bans against any supporters found guilty of the offence.
A video posted on social media appears to show home fans using highly offensive words during Saturday evening’s game at the Den. That has led to action by the FA. “The FA can confirm that we are aware of a video posted on social media after the FA Cup match between Millwall and Everton,” read a statement. “Discriminatory behaviour and chanting has no place in football and we will be investigating the matter.”
