Paul Scholes resigns as Oldham manager claiming he was misled

• Former England player steps down after only 32 days
• Says he could not work as ‘intended and was led to believe’

Paul Scholes has quit as Oldham’s manager after 32 days, claiming he has not been able to operate in the job as he had been led to believe.

The team have not won in six matches since beating Yeovil the day after the former Manchester United and England player took charge.
